WORCESTER – A newly released study ranks Worcester the 37th best run city in America.
The study ranked the 149 largest U.S. cities by compiling 36 metrics cross six service categories, which was then measured against the city’s per-capita budget.
Here is how Worcester ranked in each of the six service categories:
Financial Stability – 91
Education – 88
Health – 28
Safety – 26
Economy – 111
Infrastructure & Pollution – 58
Those six categories combined to rank Worcester 41st in quality of services. The city is 45th in budget per capita.
Other cities in New England that were ranked in the study, including the quality of service rank and budget per capita, are below.
Boston was ranked 63rd overall, 20th in quality of services and, 99th in budget per capita. Springfield received a rank of 72nd overall, the results of 120th in quality of services and 51st in budget per capita.
