WORCESTER – Worcester County District Attorney Joe Early Jr.’s office announced the indictment and arraignment of a local man for a stabbing in November 2020.
Worcester Police arrested Dana Gaul, 43, of Cherry Valley, on Thursday evening, June 24. An indictment for murder handed down by a Worcester Grand Jury earlier this week, unsealed on Friday, June 25, the same day of Gaul’s arraignment.
The Grand Jury indictment charges Gaul with Murder in the Water Street stabbing death of 19-year-old Jehlon Rose.
On November 24, 2020, Worcester Police responded to a report of a group fighting around 7:45 PM near 96 Water Street. Officers arrived on the scene to find Rose suffering from multiple stab wounds.
First responders transported Rose to Umass Memorial Cente. He died three days later.
During an eight-month investigation, Worcester Police detectives identified Gaul through surveillance footage, cell phone video and images, and eyewitnesses, according to the District Attorney’s office.
The judge ordered Gaul held without bail. Gaul is due back in court on July 1.
