WORCSTER - The Worcester Police Department has issued a traffic and parking advisory for downtown Worcester on Saturday, June 11 due to the Worcester Tercentennial 5k Road Race, starting at 9 AM, the Parade, starting at 11 AM, and the Festival, starting at noon.
Norwich Street will be closed at 5 AM to 7 PM.
The following streets will be closed from 8 AM to 7 PM:
The Tercentennial 5k Road Race begins at 9 AM and will cause temporary closures and detours on the following streets.
The Tercentennial Parade starts at 11 AM and impact the following streets:
From 6 AM until the conclusion of the parade (around 12:30 PM), no parking will be allowed on either side of Main Street or State Street.
From 6 AM to 7 PM no parking will be allowed on:
Parking will also be limited on Federal Street from 6 AM to 7 PM.
The WRTA offers fare-free program and free parking is available in the following municipal lots:
The Worcester Police Department is advising drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians to take extra care to obey the rules of the road and to be considerate of others traveling on local streets in the areas surrounding the event. Please plan ahead and seek alternate routes as the areas mentioned will be congested.
