WORCESTER – Coes Pond at John J. Binienda Memorial Beach, 180 Mill St., was closed on Wednesday, August 12, due to high E. coli bacteria in sample results.

Staff will ensure visitors to the beach do not enter the water.

The pond will be closed to the public until additional laboratory tests show acceptable bacteria levels.

The pond had reopened on Thursday, August 6, after being closed on Friday, July 28, due to laboratory results showing high E. coli bacteria levels at that time.
