The Department of Public Health’s daily update for Saturday, March 28, of COVID-19 in Massachusetts includes reports of nine new related deaths.
People from Massachusetts account for 44 deaths since the beginning of the novel coronavirus pandemic. In the past three days 29 of those deaths have been reported, an increase of 193%.
Two of the deaths, one man and one woman, were individuals from Worcester County.
A woman from Worcester County becomes the second reported death in the state of a person under 60-years-old.

There are now 4,257 positive test results in Massachusetts, an increase of 1,017 from the DPH report yesterday, Friday March 27.
The report also indicates that 5,629 test results had been returned since the previous day’s reporting.
