WORCESTER – A 31-year-old Lawrence woman died in a two-vehicle crash on Rt. 290 Eastbound in Worcester on Saturday morning.
According to the Massachusetts State Police [MSP], officers responded around 2:30 AM to the crash that involved the deceased woman’s 2017 Honda Civic and a Ford F-350 pickup truck. The Civic rear-ended the truck which was towing a car carrier.
The operator of the Honda and her two passengers, a 24-year-old man and a 25-year-old man, both from Lawrence, were entrapped. Members of the Worcester Fire Department extricated all three from the vehicle and they were then transported to UMass Medical Center in Worcester, where the operator was subsequently pronounced deceased.
The operator of the pickup truck was uninjured.
The cause of this crash remains under investigation with assistance from the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and Crime Scene Services Section. State Police were assisted on scene by Worcester Fire and MassDOT.
The identity of the victim is being withheld pending family notification.
