MILLBURY – State Police are investigating the death of a 27-year-old Douglas woman who was struck by a car on the Mass Pike while attempting to cross the highway on foot late Friday night.

According to the Massachusetts State Police [MSP], around 11 PM a 2013 Nissan Altima was in a single-car crash on the eastbound side the Mass Pike in Millbury.

After the crash, the Douglas woman exited her car and was crossing the highway when she was hit by a car traveling westbound.

A reconstruction of the crash has been initiated by the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.
