The Massachusetts State Police have identified the victim in Friday Night’s fatal crash on the Mass Pike in Millbury as Kimberly Hannon, 27, of Douglas.
According to the State Police, the facts and circumstances surround the crash remain under investigation.
As ThisWeekinWorcester.com reported early Saturday morning, Hannon was struck by a car while attempting to cross the highway on foot.
According to the MSP, around 11 PM on Friday night, Hannon was operating her 2013 Nissan Altima when she crashed on the eastbound side the Mass Pike in Millbury.
After the crash, she exited her car and was crossing the highway when she was hit by a car traveling westbound.
Hannon was found by state troopers in the westbound side of the median. She was brought to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Worcester and was pronounced deceased.
Shortly after the crash, a 54-year-old Oxford man, the operator of a 2013 Ford Fusion, reported to the State Police that he may have hit something on the Mass Pike.
Police found front-end damage to the Fusion. The man and his passenger, an adult female, were transported to State Police-Millbury and interviewed by Troopers.
