WORCESTER – The Worcester Department of Public Works and Parks [DPW] issued a weather related alert on Monday, October 25.
Due to forecasted weather from Monday night through Wednesday, DPW asks residents to help mitigate potential street flooding by clearing leaves and debris away from catch basins and storm drains in front of or near their property.
DPW advises motorists and pedestrians to seek alternate routes when encountering roadways. Attempting to traverse flooded roadways can be hazardous, lead to serious injury, and may result in the loss of personal property such as a flooded vehicle.
With possible heavy rain & high speed winds, @WorcesterDPW is preparing for tomorrow’s anticipated storm. At first sign of flooding, streets will be closed. Motorists & pedestrians should use extreme caution. Watch for dislodged manhole covers. C/S will be open at (508) 929-1300 pic.twitter.com/dF6ICyaMgS
