Worcester Public Works Commissioner Jay Fink Resigns

WORCESTER – Worcester Commissioner of Public Works and Parks Jay Fink, P.E., has resigned. He will continue to serve in his role in Worcester through September.

Then-City Manager Ed Augustus announced Fink’s hiring on Nov. 10, 2020. His first day on the job was Nov. 30, 2020.

Fink will return to the Miami, Florida area. Prior to joining the City of Worcester, he served for eight years as Assistant Director of the Department of Public Works for the City of Miami Beach.

Prior to his position in Miami, Fink was Commissioner of Public Works in the City of Lynn from 2004 to 2012 and Commissioner of Public Works in Quincy from 2002 to 2004. From 1998 to 2002, he served as Utilities Director for the City of Newton’s Department of Public Works from 1998-2002.

Fink also served 14 years as a member of the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority Advisory Board.
