DUDLEY – A lightning strike of a utility pole near the intersection of Village Street and West Main Street early Saturday morning forced a road closure for several hours to enable work by utility crews.
Roads reopened before noon on Saturday, but signals at the intersection will remain flashing over the weekend.
According to the Dudley Police Department, the traffic control box for the lights at the intersection suffered damage. Due to the holiday weekend, the repairs are unlikely to be completed.
Drivers and pedestrians are asked to exercise caution in the area until repairs can be completed.
