Police: Man Shot in Dudley Apartment During Home Invasion

DUDLEY - Dudley Police officers responded to 12 Green Street overnight for a report of a male being shot.

A 26-year-old male resident had suffered a gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported UMass Memorial in Worcester for treatment. He is expected to recover.

According to Dudley PD, initial reports suggest multiple suspects forced their way into the  first-floor apartment on Green Street and confronted the victim. The victim was shot and the suspects fled on foot.

A woman and two children were present in the home when the shooting occurred.

Police don't believe this was a random act of violence. The Massachusetts State Police, along with Webster and Oxford police departments, assisted with the initial investigation.
