WORCESTER COUNTY – Superintendent of the Massachusetts State Police (MSP) Colonel John Mawn Jr., announced there will be a sobriety checkpoint in Worcester County this weekend.
The checkpoint will take place from Friday, Aug. 23 into Saturday, Aug. 24.
According to the MSP, the purpose of the sobriety checkpoint is to “educate the motoring public and strengthen the public’s awareness to the need of detecting and removing those motorists who operate under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs from our roadways.”
The checkpoint will operate during varied hours. MSP says “the selection of vehicle will not be arbitrary, safety will be assured, and any inconveniences will be minimized.”
