WORCESTER – Police are investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash on June Street on Thursday, December 2.
The crash between a Jeep and a Nissan took place took place around 7 PM near 292 June Street. Police, the Worcester Fire Department and EMS all responded.
Police arrived at the scene to find the 64-year-old man driving the Jeep and the 61-year-old Worcester man driving the Nissan both unconscious. EMS transported both men to a local hospital.
Officers later learned staff the 64-year-old driver of the Jeep had died.
The Crash Reconstruction Team’s preliminary investigation revealed the Worcester man in the Nissan attempted to pass a UPS truck parked on the side of the road. Investigators believe the Nissan crossed the double yellow lines into oncoming traffic while passing leading to a head on collision.
The crash remains under investigation.
