Multi-Agency Team Arrests Worcester Man on Federal Warrant

WORCESTER – Multiple agencies executed a search warrant in Worcester on Friday, leading the the arrest of a local man on several charges.

The Worcester Police, Massachusets State Police, Worcester High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) , US Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Homeland Security officers executed the warrant on View Street on Friday at around 6 AM.

Inside the residence, officers located Raul Martinez, 35, of Worcester, and two handguns, and bags of what appeared to be fentanyl, heroin, xanax, and ammunition.

Martinez faces charges of:

  • Trafficking in a Class A Substance (Fentanyl);
  • Possession of a Class B Substance with Intent to Distribute (Cocaine);
  • Possession of a Class E Substance (Xanax);
  • two counts of Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm without an FID Card;
  • Possession of a Firearm with a Defaced Serial Number;
  • Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device;
  • Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card; and
  • Improper Storage of a Firearm.
