Man Faces Firearms Charge After Shooting in Worcester

WORCESTER – A ShotSpotter alert shortly after midnight sent police to South St. on Tuesday, January 26, where Angel Rodriguez, 23, of Worcester, was arrested and faces firearms charges.

Officers allegedly saw Rodriguez place something near the tire of a vehicle as they arrived on the scene. Police located a firearm in the same area. Police also observed a parked vehicle on South St. damage caused by gunfire.

While police were investigating, they received notice a 29-year-old man arrived at a local hospital suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

Rodriguez faces charges of Carrying a Firearm without a License and Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License.

The investigation is ongoing.
