Fitchburg Man Indicted for Shooting at Murder Victim’s Vigil

 FITCHBURG – A 32-year-old Fitchburg man was indicted on Thursday by a Worcester County Grand Jury in the July 15 shooting at a vigil for a murder victim on Blossom St. in Fitchburg.

According to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr., William Linde, of 73 Blossom St. is charged with armed assault with intent to murder; assault and battery with a dangerous weapon; carrying a firearm, not at home or work (armed career criminal); possession of ammunition, no FID card (armed career criminal); and carrying a loaded firearm, not at home or work.

Linde is being held in jail on unrelated charges and will be arraigned in Worcester Superior Court at a later date.
