A member of the Fitchburg chapter of the Latin Kings plead guilty to multiple charges in federal court this week.
Dairon Rivera, 27, Fitchburg, — known as “King Mafia” — pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute fentanyl on Wednesday, December 9.
According to U.S. Attorney Andrew Lelling’s office, Rivera was charged in December 2019.
Rivera admitted to selling over 40 grams of fentanyl to a cooperating witness in a series of recorded sales between April and December 2017.
A federal grand jury returned indictments alleging racketeering conspiracy, drug conspiracy and firearms charges against 62 leaders, members and associates of the Latin Kings. Rivera is the 26th deferent to plead guilty in the case.
Rivera faces up to 20 years in federal prison. He is next scheduled to appear for sentencing on April 1, 2021.
According to Lelling’s office, “the Latin Kings are a violent criminal enterprise comprised of thousands of members across the United States. As alleged in court documents, the gang uses drug distribution to generate revenue, and engages in violence against witnesses and rival gangs to further its influence and to protect its turf.”
