21-year-old Fitchburg Woman Killed in Car Crash in Worcester

WORCESTER – Around 7 AM on Sunday, a 21-year-old woman from Fitchburg died after she crashed her vehicle on Rt. 290 Eastbound in Worcester.

State Police troopers from the Holden barracks responded to the single vehicle crash. Initial reports reveal that the woman was operating a 2005 Kia Spectre when she left the roadway and crashed.

A 25-year-old female from Leominster suffered minor injuries and a 23-year-old female from Worcester was uninjured in the crash.

State Police closed exits 19 and 20 on I-290 for roughly two hours while processing the accident scene. 

State Police continue to investigate the crash with assistance from the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, and Crime Scene Services Section. State Police were assisted on scene by Worcester Fire and EMS and MassDOT.
