Worcester Teachers’ Union Rallying Today through Downtown

The Education Association of Worcester — the city’s teachers’ union — is hosting a car rally today calling for a more involvement in the school district’s reopening plans.

“We are working through unprecedented situations. Educators can provide a great deal of insight on how to improve the remote learning model and offer guidance on health and safety protocols,” said EAW President Roger Nugent.

The union says the School Committee’s recent decision to allow teachers to deliver their remote lessons from home or locations other than school buildings as a positive sign for collaboration.

Union members and supports will meet at 5:30 PM in the parking lot at Immaculate Conception Church, 353 Grove St. where speakers will address the issues that educators remain concerned about.

At 6:30 PM, vehicles will embark on a parade into downtown Worcester.
