Keep Worcester Clean Collected 100 Tons of Trash in Second Half of 2019

Over the last six months of 2019 [July to December], the “Keep Worcester Clean” program collected 100 tons of trash at 709 sites across the city.

During that same time, the DPW issues 109 citations worth more than $20,000 in violations. 

And in case you missed it, the City has also rolled out new yellow trash bags with drawstrings closures. The new bags are available now. 

 

National Grid Launches Text Alerts in Case of Power Outage

In an effort to improve communications with its customers, National Grid has launched a new text alert system with important features like power outage alerts.

Customers can enroll in the program by texting ‘REG’ to 64743. The new system will alert customers of power outages at their property. 

It’s simple to un-enroll, too. Just text ‘OUT’ to 64743 to opt-out of receiving the messages.

Three Skate Park Designs Will be Revealed at Meeting

A meeting to reveal three conceptual designs to the proposed Crompton Park Skate Park will take place in just a few weeks.

The plans were designed by Pillar Designs Studios, LLC based on public input at a pair of meetings last week.

The Crompton Park Skate Park Master Plan meeting will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 5 at Sacred Heart- Saint Catherine of Sweden Parish on Cambridge St. at 6:30 PM.

The meeting will take the three conceptual designs and transform them into a single plan.

Centro to Host Job Fair on Tuesday, Jan. 21
