Midtown Mall Facade in Front of Historical Commission Again
The owner of the Midtown Mall will be at the City’s historical commission meeting again on Thursday to propose a face-lift for the front of the building.
Felicio Lana has applied to waive the automatic one-year waiting period before an exterior portion of a historic building may be demolished or altered.
Lana wants to replace the current facade with a new glass facade.
Memorial for Firefighter Christopher Roy to Be Unveiled Tonight
A memorial honoring fallen Worcester firefighter Christopher Roy will be unveiled tonight at 6 PM at the Webster Square Fire Station, 40 Webster Street.
Monday marks the one-year anniversary of Roy’s Line of Duty Death — which came while fighting a fire at 7 Lowell St on Dec. 9, 2018. Roy, 36, was assigned to Ladder 4, Group 3 at the Webster Square Fire Station.
Construction of the memorial was made possible through a generous donation from the Kraft Family Foundation.
Speakers will include Mayor Joseph M. Petty, Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito, City Manager Edward M. Augustus Jr., Robert Kraft, Chief Michael Lavoie and City Councilor-at-Large Kate Toomey.
First Public Hearing for Crompton Skate Park is Tonight
The first of a pair of public hearings to present information regarding the installation of a new skate park at Crompton Park is tonight.
The DPW has hired Weston & Sampson Engineers and subcontractor Pillar Design Studios, LLC to design this project.Pillar is an International Action Sports Development firm that specializes in Skatepark planning, construction, and process services.

Leaf Pickup to Continue Monday AM in Worcester
Even after getting several inches of snow at the start of last week, the City of Worcester will continue fall leaf collection in several parts of the city.
Leaf collection will take from place 7 AM to 5 PM all week long.
ICYMI: Denis Leary’s Show ‘The Moodys’ Premiered Last Week
Worcester’s own Denis Leary has made his return to broadcast television in the FOX holiday comedy special,The Moodys.
The first two of the six half-hour long episodes of The Moodys premiered on Wednesday, Dec. 4. The single camera comedy series has Leary in the lead role of Sean Moody, Sr. The series is an adaptation of the2012 Australian comedyof the same name.
