Former Holy Cross Coach Named NBA Head Coach

Mark Daigneault, a Leominster native and former Assistant Coach with the Holy Cross Crusaders, was named the fourth head coach of the NBA’s Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday, November 11.

Daigneault was an Assistant Coach for the Holy Cross Crusaders from 2007 through the 2009-2010 season. The team was 42-50 over his three years on the the staff.

Daigneault joined the Thunder coaching staff this past season. He was head coach of the Oklahoma City Blue, the Thunder NBA G-League affiliate, for the five previous years. He coached the Blue to a 143-107 record during his tenure.

Between his time in Worcester and Oklahoma, Daigneault spent four years at the University of Florida. The last two years he was Assistant to the Head Coach of the men’s basketball program.

Daigneault graduated from the University of Connecticut [UCONN] and holds a master’s degree in Sports Management from the University of Florida.
