WORCESTER- Four local women will be honored for their personal achievements and community work by Notre Dame Academy at its annual awards ceremony and scholarship gala on November 4.
Notre Dame, an all-girls college preparatory school in Worcester, MA, will honor Katherine Barrett, Dr. Catherine Riordan, Jessica Walsh, and Ann Flynn for their personal achievements and community service.
Proceeds from the gala will benefit Notre Dame Academy.
Katherine Barrett will receive the Young Alumna Award for her inspiring physical and emotional recovery from a traumatic skiing accident, while Dr. Catherine Riordan will receive the Alumna Award for her community work as a pediatrician and unwavering support of Notre Dame.
Jessica Walsh will receive the Community Award for the instrumental role she played in bringing POW! WOW!, an international festival celebrating public works of art, to Worcester. This year, 50 artists painted 41 murals across the city in only 10 days.
Ann Flynn will be recognized with the St. Julie Billiart Award for a lifetime of women’s and human rights advocacy. She volunteers frequently with local charities like the United Way, and founded the N.E.E.D. support group for women with eating disorders.
