Starting Monday, February 15, admission fees for all public skating sessions will be waived at FMC Ice Sports-run state indoor skating arenas.

In Central Massachusetts, free public skating will be offered at Buffone Arena in Worcester, Gardner Veterans Arena, Horgan Arena in Auburn and Navin Arena in Marlborough.

Public skating sessions are held daily for two hours. Click here for the full schedule.

On their website, FMC writes, “We know many skaters and their families have suffered financially over the past year so we will be waiving the admission fee for all public sessions for the remainder of the season. We hope this helps in a small way to encourage our communities to come back to the rink and enjoy skating once again. We miss you and really want to see you back having fun and getting exercise on the ice!”

Here’s what you need to know:

  1. Skaters must pre-register online here.
  2. Skating sessions will be limited to 25 people per session.
  3. Skaters must wear face coverings at all times.
  4. Skaters must maintain social distancing of 6 feet at all times on the ice.
  5. Spectators are only allowed indoors for minors under the age of 18 and are limited to two parents at a time.
  6. No skate rentals are available.
  7. Concession stands will be closed, but vending machines are available.
  8. Skaters should arrive at least 10 minutes before their sessions.
  9. No social gatherings are allowed inside the arena or outside in the parking lot.
