Gasoline prices in Massachusetts are up three cents this week with self-serve, regular unleaded gasoline averaging at $2.53 per gallon.
According to AAA Northeast’s April 1 Survey of prices in Massachusetts, the range in prices from a low of $2.37 to a high of $3.05.

The Massachusetts price is sixteen cents lower than the national average for regular unleaded of $2.69. A year ago at this time, the average price in Massachusetts was one cent higher at $2.54.
“Three months ago motorists across the country could find gas for less than $2.50 at 78 percent of gas stations. Today, you can only find gas for that price at one third of the stations,” said Mary Maguire, Director of Public and Legislative Affairs. “Supplies have been steadily decreasing since early February causing spikes at the pump that are likely to continue throughout April and into May.”
