Fundraiser Launched for Families Impacted in Pleasant St. Fire

WORCESTER – A GoFundMe page has been established in support of two families impacted by a fire that destroyed commercial property from 806 to 812 Pleasant St. on May 1. The three alarm-fire were the homes of Worcester Flower Shop and U-Home Decor Store. The Lulu’s Bakery and Cafe. which closed in January, and the Corner Grill. which closed in 2020, had previously been at those locations.

The GoFundMe fundraiser, listed as organized by the Newton Square Community, seeks to raise $25,000 for the two families involved.

The fundraiser page says Worcester Flower Shop owners Edwin Ramirez and Julia Portillo have two children under 10 years old. Edison and Clareabel Quiñones, owners of U-Home Décor, which opened in July, have four children.

The fundraiser was opened on Saturday and has 52 donors for $3,115 at the time of publication.
