Governor Charlie Baker announced an extension of the social distancing guidelines and the closing of non-essential businesses in Massachusetts until Monday, May 4.

Guidelines on essential businesses will also be updated.

Categories of essential businesses have been adjusted to provide more clarity around the supply chain for essential businesses.

One change will come to hotels, motels and short term rentals, like Airbnb, which will not only be permitted for essential workers. They may no longer be booked for vacation or leisure purposes.

The Department of Public Health will issue guidance on the changes to business by the end of the day today, Tuesday, March 31.
