GRAFTON – The Grafton Police Department, at 28 Providence Rd., will host a Drug Enforcement Administration [DEA] Prescription Drug Take Back Event on Saturday. October 24 from 10 AM to 2 PM.

The event allows individuals to turn over expired or unwanted pills and medications to public officials for proper disposal.

The DEA typically only accepts pills or patches at these events, but the Grafton Board of Health will also be on hand to accept needles and syringes for disposal.

The service is free and anonymous. Identification is not required and no questions will be asked. Mask wearing is required.

Americans surrendered nearly 833,000 pounds of medications during the DEA event in October 2019. Nearly 12.7 million pounds of expired, unused, and unwanted prescription medications since the national annual event launched in 2010.
