BOSTON – A Jamaican man is now subject to removal proceedings and being deported for the third time since 2008 after being sentenced for unlawful re-entry in federal court in Boston on Tuesday.
Arik Hugh Halliman, 40, was sentenced to seven months in prison and three years of supervised release on Tuesday after pleading guilty to unlawful reentry of a deported alien in November. He was arrested in Dudley in July for motor vehicle violations and a false ID.
Federal immigration officials took Halliman into custody when he posted bail after his arrest.
Halliman was first deported in June 2013 after a cocaine trafficking conviction in Worcester County in 2011. He was arrested again on cocaine trafficking charges in 2018, and deported for a second time in July that year.
