WORCESTER – A man was arrested on Saturday, May 6, after police responded to a West Boylston Street after a report of a break-in at around 5:15 PM.
According to the Worcester Police Department, the homeowner arrived to find his home vandalized and searched, reporting that the culprit was still within the home.
When police arrived at the scene, they located Joseph Hayes, 50, of West Brookfield, in the back yard of the property. Police say he was in possession of stolen items, which were returned to the homeowner.
Hayes faces charges of:
- Breaking and Entering during the daytime with intent to commit a felony;
- Larceny from a Building; and
- Willful and Malicious Destruction of Property.
