BOSTON – Attorney General Maura Healey announced a settlement with a Worcester adult day health provider on Wednesday, June 29, which resolves allegations of improper billing sent to MassHealth.
Worcester Adult Day Care Center (WADCC), at 18 Lafayette Street, agreed to pay $195,000 as part of a three-year independent compliance monitoring program to ensure it is complying with state and federal laws and regulations.
According to Healey’s office, the investigation into WADCC by the AG’s Medicaid Fraud Division revealed that WADCC allegedly over-billed MassHealth for the number of people served and the number of hours care was provided, reporting that more people were provided care than actually received services. It was also alleged that WADCC misused billing codes.
