WORCESTER – A Health and Housing Block Party on Saturday, Sept. 28, provides free health screenings and interactive workshops on housing and health at Community Healthlink, at 72 Jaques St., in the Chandler Street area.
The City of Worcester Department of Economic Development Housing Development Division, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and UMass Memorial Health host the event.
During the event, Senior officials from HUD, with federal, state, and local legislators, will host a listening session with local housing and health professionals regarding housing’s role in healthcare.
Family friendly activities at the event include:
- Free Health Screenings sponsored by UMass Memorial Medical Center
- Music by BDJ Entertainment
- Interactive workshops on housing and health
- Food trucks by Matilda’s Kitchen, Big T’s Jerky House, El Punto Latino, and Kona Ice
- Bouncy house by Magic World
- Facepainting by Central Massachusetts Housing Alliance
- Kid’s games & activities
- Raffles
The event runs from 11 AM to 4 PM and is free and open to the public. Attendees can find parking at lot C of Family Health Center of Worcester, which is accessed from King Street.
