WORCESTER – Over a month after the City of Worcester closed Heard Street, the road reopened on Thursday.
According to an announcement by the city on Thursday, August 15, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) completed the last inspections necessary to reopen the road on Wednesday.
On Monday, July 8, a water main break on Heard Street compromised the roadway, with material falling onto the railroad tracks below. Heard Street was closed to traffic in both directions the same day until reopening Wednesday.
