WORCESTER – The National Weather Service has extended its Heat Advisory for the Worcester area through the weekend until Sunday at 8 PM.
Temperatures are expected to reach the low 90s on both days with a heat index of 95 to 102 degrees.
NWS warns that hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illness. They advise to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun and to check on relatives and neighbors.
Worcester’s municipal and state beaches and spray parks—with the exception of Indian Lake Beach – are open to the public every day from 12 PM to 7 PM. A full list of locations can be found here.
