Here’s a Look at a Fun-Filled April Vacation Week in Worcester

WORCESTER – April showers are still bringing a season of fun to Worcester.  

April school vacation is right around the corner and with the potential of rain in the forecast, families will be seeking local events to attend both outside and indoors. Vacation week runs from Monday, April 15 to Friday, April 19 and Worcester is offering spectacular opportunities for the whole family.

Make April vacation a celebration. Join Worcester for a week of new experiences and memories for the family.

Workshop at WAM

School may be out of session, but the community is rich with experiences to nurture creativity and learning. The Worcester Art Museum is running a series of workshops to inspire children in a way that goes beyond the classroom. For the week of April vacation, children can join the “Spring Into Art” art camp that encourages them to create masterpieces from budding flowers and plants. Students can be registered online to begin polishing their artistic talents.

Explore some fun at the EcoTarium this vacation

The EcoTarium is welcoming guests all week long to tour their interactive exhibits, animal habitats, and nature trails. During the week of vacation, the museum is excited to announce that the train will be running and train rides will be available.The highlight of the week for the EcoTarium is their Earth Day Celebration event on Friday, April 19. Nature lovers will learn about the benefits of reusing and recycling materials. They will also interact with immersive hands-on activities and take advantage of a recycling drop-off station for electronics.

Close the books!

The Worcester Public library has planned a number of entertaining activities. Their attractions are specifically geared towards children who are twelve and younger. Children are invited to play with provided toys at the library’s Lego and Construction event. Parents and children can enjoy tinkering with Legos, Lincoln Logs, and other toys on Tuesday, April 16.  The Worcester Public Library is also holding a children’s animated film festival and they will be showing a different animated movie every afternoon at 2:30 PM from April 16 to April 20.

Escaping the ordinary is easy at Live Action Escapes.

Live Action Escapes is an escape room center in which participants must solve a series of puzzles to unlock a final riddle in order to successfully leave the room.  Live Action Escapes is featuring special hours [open at 12 PM] particularly for April vacation week. Themes include Robin Hood’s Dungeon, The Starship: Space Rescue, and Save the World. Live Action Escape provides a fast-paced challenge that all members of the family can compete to solve.
