Here’s an Update on Saturday’s Snowstorm in Worcester

WORCESTER – Much colder air will push into the area by late Thursday morning and afternoon on northwest winds that will gust up to 40 to 50 mph this afternoon. This will lead to temperatures falling through the 30s Thursday afternoon. Wind chill temperatures will be in the teens to low 20s.

Cold and windy weather is expected Thursday night across Central Mass. under clear to partly cloudy skies. Low temperatures tonight will be near 15 Degrees. Northwest winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph are expected throughout the night tonight. Wind chill temperatures tonight will drop to between 5 and 10 below zero by late tonight.

Friday: A sunny, but cold day is expected on Friday with high temperatures only making it to 25 Degrees. A gusty northwest wind will drive wind chill temperatures to Zero to 10 above zero throughout the day.

One of the coldest nights so far this winter is expected on Friday night with low temperatures of between 2 below zero and 4 above zero expected.

Saturday into Monday: Snow will overspread Central Mass. by about 3 PM to 4 PM Saturday afternoon. It is expected that the snow will continue into early Saturday evening before it changes to a mixture of rain and sleet between 9 pm and midnight Saturday night.

A rain-sleet mixture is then expected throughout the rest of Saturday night before it comes to an end just after sunrise Sunday morning.

Even though this still does not look like a big snowfall for the area, it is still expected to be enough to make things quite messy on Saturday afternoon and Saturday night.

Sunny weather with cold temperatures are expected for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. High temperatures Monday will be near 25 Degrees. High temperatures Tuesday will be between 20 and 25 Degrees. High temperatures Wednesday will be near 25 Degrees.
