WORCESTER – It’s the day after Christmas. For some people, they can’t wait to get the Christmas tree out of the house. For others, they hang on to it much longer than they should.
Good news for Worcester residents: the City is opening up drop-of sites from now until Sunday, January 12.
Residents can dispose of their trees at the following locations:
- 1065 Millbury Street [next to the VFW Post]
- 300 Chandler Street [In the parking lot across from Foley Stadium]
- 299 Clark Street [Near the East Mountain Street intersection]
Sites will be open Monday thru Friday from 8:30 AM to 3 PM and Saturdays and Sundays from 9 AM to 4 PM [only Millbury site is open on Sunday].
Christmas trees won’t be collected at the curb. Only live Christmas trees will be accepted. Yard waste and artificial trees won’t be picked up.
Trees should only be dropped when City staff are present. Dropping trees off when staff and trucks are not on site is considered illegal dumping. Proof of Worcester residency is required for drop off.
