CHARLTON – A Holden man was arrested for OUI following a major crash in Charlton on Monday night.
According to the Charlton Police Dept., the two-vehicle crash occurred at the intersection at Stafford St. and Center Depot Rd.
Police said Jonathan Morrisey, of Holden, was driving a black Ford Escape when he crashed into a white GMC van. Upon the officers arrival to the crash scene, Morrisey was found to have been consuming an alcoholic beverage and was unsteady on his feet.
Morrisey failed sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for OUI.
Officers responded to the crash just before 7:30 PM. Morrisey’s vehicle was in the middle of the intersection and had heavy frontend damage. The GMC van was found in a ditch off the road [see photo].
Neither of the occupants in either vehicle sustained major injury, according to Charlton PD. They were evaluated by Charlton EMS at the scene and released.
Morrisey was charged with failure to stop, OUI – Alcohol, and Negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
