Holy Cross Student Released from Florida Hospital, 5 Students and Coach Remain

Maegan Moriarty, a Holy Cross women’s rowing team member was released from the hospital in Fort Pierce. Florida Thursday evening.

Moriarty, from Old Lyme, Connecticut, is a senior at Holy Cross and team member with the women’s rowing team.

As previously reported, several members of the women’s rowing team were involved in an accident early Wednesday morning. Grace Rett, a 20-year-old sophomore on the rowing team, was killed in the accident.

With Moriarty’s release on Thursday there is now five students and a coach remaining hospitalized.

Holy Cross President Rev Philip Boroughs have been in Florida since Wednesday and will be returning to campus on Saturday.

He released an email to the Holy Cross community on Thursday.
