Police and Fire Marshall Investigating Fatal Webster Fire

WEBSTER – A man died in a fire at a home on High St. during the evening hours of Wednesday, May 19.

Emergency response first received a report of the fire at 9:30 PM on Wednesday.

Resident on the first floor escaped from the home. Webster Police used a ladder and rescued a woman from the second floor. An ambulance took that woman to a local hospital.

Firefighters located a man on the second floor who was unable to be resuscitated.

The Worcester Country District Attorney’s Office will release the man’s name after identification by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

The Webster Police Department, Webster Fire Department and State Police assigned to the Massachusetts Fire Marshall’s office and the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office are investigating the cause of the fire.
