Former Auburn Teacher Convicted of Raping a Student

WORCESTER – Superior Court Judge William Ritter found a former Auburn elementary school teacher guilty of raping a student multiple times inside a classroom over 10 years ago, in a jury waived trial.

Worcester District Attorney Joe Early, Jr., announced the conviction after the judge issued his decision on Thursday, May 12.

Judge Ritter found Stephen Jaszek, 66, of South Hadley, guilty of all counts, which included two counts of aggravated rape of a child by a mandated reporter, two counts of aggravated rape of a child, and one count of aggravated rape of a child under the age of 14 by a mandated reporter.

The sexual assaults took place inside a classroom between 2009 and 2010, while the female victim was a student.

The judge scheduled sentencing for May 20 in Worcester Superior Court.
