[box] “Who’s gonna turn down a Junior Mint? It’s chocolate, it’s peppermint; it’s delicious!”
“That’s true.”
“It’s very refreshing.”[/box]
It appears many people in Massachusetts can agree with the back-and-forth above between Cosmo Kramer and Jerry Seinfeld from the popular “The Junior Mint” episode of Seinfeld.
Using Google Trends, the career expert website Zippia determined the favorite Halloween candy in each state and found that Junior Mints reign supreme in Massachusetts.
Junior Mints were actually introduced in Cambridge. Mass. by the James O. Welch Company — who also made Sugar Babies and Sugar Daddys.
The chocolate-covered mint candy is still manufactured at a factory in Cambridge by Tootsie Roll Industries.
According to Zippia, candy searches soar in October and the 50 states are divided right down the middle: 25 like chocolate, 25 like fruit/gummy candies.
Our neighbors to the north in New Hampshire have the most unexpected favorite Halloween candy: soft, orange Circus Peanuts.
