WORCESTER – A 17-year-old from Worcester was arrested on Thursday for vandalizing a car stopped at a stop sign in Great Brook Valley last month.

According to the Worcester Police Department [WPD], on the afternoon of Feb. 24, officers were called to the area of Tacoma St for a report of unruly bike riders.

A car stopped at a stop sign was surrounded by youth on bicycles who were blocking the vehicle from passing. The juvenile arrested on Thursday jumped on the car and began stomping on the hood and windshield until it was smashed. The juvenile got on his bike and drove away.

Following the incident, WPD officers checked the cameras in the Great Brook Valley security system. The incident was captured on camera, and the officers were able to see the suspect. On Thursday, police went to juvenile’s residence to speak with him. When the male answered the door, the officers identified him and placed him under arrest for Malicious Destruction of Property, Disorderly Conduct, and Disturbing the Peace. The male will be arraigned in Worcester Juvenile Court.
