Worcester PD Make Arrest, Recover Rifle After Standoff

WORCESTER - Worcester Police officers arrested Edward Kloucek, 50, of East Kendall Street, after a standoff on Wednesday afternoon.

According to police, around 9:30 AM, officers possessed an arrest warrant for Kloucek, who refused to open the door at his home. Officers had information that Kloucek had a rifle, even though he didn't have a license to carry a firearm.

After Kloucek continued to refuse to open the door, police called on Crisis Negotiators and the SWAT team. Negotiators made contact with Kloucek, but he hung up the phone.

After over two hours, SWAT team members and a K9 unit made entry into the home, located Kloucek and arrested him. Officers recovered the rifle from the residence.

Kloucek was placed under arrest for his warrant and is additionally charged with four counts of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Intimidation of a Witness and Armed Career Criminal Level 3.
