WORCESTER – Police arrested a man in Worcester after the vandalism of two art mural pillars on the grounds of Worcester City Hall.

Police responded to a report of vandalism at Worcester City Hall on Monday, January 6. Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered the vandalism on the two murals.

On Tuesday, January 7, officers responded to a report of vandalism at 120 Front Street.

Surveillance video captured the incidents at both locations. The individual involved in both incidents appeared to be the same person. A department-wide email contained an image of the suspect.

On January 8, an officer says he saw a man that appeared to be the man in the image near Union Station at around 4:15 PM, according to the Worcester Police Department.

The department says that the man, Kevin Kobler, 35, was wearing the same clothes when at the time as worn in some of the surveillance footage.

Downtown Foot Beat officers arrested Kobler, who faces charges of Vandalism.
