The first weekend of September is here and the best part is that it is a long weekend!  Labor Day is this Monday, so enjoy the holiday and your time off.  You do not have to travel at all this year if you are looking for fun for the family.

The Worcester-area is kicking off Labor Day weekend with family friendly opportunities. ThisWeekinWorcester.com has your list of five great events to keep your family relaxed and entertained this holiday weekend.

You can get outside and relish the fresh air or stay in for a comfortable weekend by discovering magic at a botanic garden, playing an 80s sitcom-themed trivia, or trying a new flavor of gelato.

Indulge in a tasty treat this Saturday!

This Saturday from 11 AM to 2 PM, join Worcester Regional Food Hub’s sweetest event of September!

Get your tastebuds ready for Sweetness: the Just Food Co. Pop Up Event. Visit the local food market at 25 Francis Street for a sample of their sweet potato gelato and to take home a pint of their Sweet Summer Blues flavor. Savor this delicious dessert while listening to their audio pairing of sweet summer blues live playlist, which is streaming on Tidal.

Get this at our outdoor farmers market Saturday from 11 to 2 at 25 Francis Street in Worcester!

Add some magic to your life!

This weekend the Tower Hill Botanic Garden is inviting you to a magical event. From September 1 through October 31, the botanic gardens will be visited by mythical creatures. Explore the beautiful grounds to not only see the plants and fall foliage, but bigfoot, sprites, and a kraken as well.

Tickets for the event must be pre-ordered online. Make sure to wear a mask and maintain COVID-19 guidelines when entering the gardens.

Things are getting heavy at Ralph’s Rock Diner!

This Saturday from 9 PM to 12 AM, stay out late for a night of metal on their patio!

Ralph’s Rock Diner, in partnership with CVLT and Southern Lord Recordings, will be projecting a livestream of the band High Command on the wall next to the patio. Stick around after the show to buy merchandise from the band. The show is free and masks must be worn.

Make this Sunday a hole-in-one!

This Sunday from 12 PM to 5 PM, Apex Entertainment in Marlborough will be hosting a mini-golf course

Putt your way through eighteen holes for a chance to win prizes and giveaways for the whole family. Tickets are $8 per person and it costs $5 to replay.

You will be singing ‘Thank you for being a friend’ this weekend!

This Sunday at 8:45 PM, prepare for SocialEvents123.com’s Golden Girls Trivia Night
