WORCESTER – The city’s Zoning Board of Appeals will review a proposal for 38 residential units at 90 Lamartine St. and an adjacent parking lot on Monday.
The Lamartine Street property is an old tool factory built in 1907, according to state records. The F. E. Reed Tool Company Factory Building is a three-story building with a basement. Each floor level is 10,764 sq. ft. The first floor of the building has most recently been used as a self-storage facility.
The proposal includes 24 one-bedroom units and 14 studio units, with 12 units on the second floor and 13 units on both the third and fourth floors.
The proposed development is just blocks away from Polar Park (0.3 miles) and the ballpark’s parking garage, Kelley Square and the restaurants and retail shops in the Canal District.
According to city records, the property is owned by Worcester Bedworks LLC. The assessed value of the property is $546,600.
A parcel at 84 Lamartine St. has been proposed for a parking lot with a total of 10 spaces. The Zoning Board will review a petition for relief of the minimum off-street parking requirement at Monday’s meeting at 5:30 PM.
