Fitchburg Murder Victim Identified as 23-year-old Leon Wilson

FITCHBURG – A 23-year-old man has been identified as the victim of a shooting that occurred on Thursday night in Fitchburg, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.

The victim of the shooting was Leon Wilson Jr. of 49 Spruce St., Fitchburg.

Wilson was identified by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. He was murdered shortly before 9PM on Thursday, July 11, near 30 Blossom St in Fitchburg. 

Fitchburg Police are also investigating the shooting of a 22-year-old man early Monday morning near lower Blossom St.

According to the DA’s office, the man walked into Fitchburg Police Headquarters around 2:15 AM and told officers that he had been shot near the area where Wilson was klled.

The victim of today’s shooting was transported to an area hospital where he is being treated.

State Police Detectives assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office and Fitchburg Police are investigating a potential connection between both shootings.
