MILLBURY – L.L. Bean hosts the grand opening celebration of its store at The Shoppes at Blackstone Valley in Millbury at 70 Worcester-Providence Turnpike starting on Friday, October 22 through Sunday, October 24.
The first 200 people in line on Friday receive a L.L. Bean gift card with values ranging between $10 and $500. Doors open at 9 AM. Line up starts at 6 AM.
L.L. Bean is a clothing and outdoor recreation retail store founded in 1912 in Freeport, Maine. The store in Millbury is its eight in Massachusetts and becomes one of 57 stores across 19 states in the U.S.
Friday evening, the store has an assortment of events involving the Red Sox. Shoppers can get photos with the World Championship Trophies while Wally the Green Monster and L.L. Bear, mascots for the Red Sox and L.L. Bean, will be at the store.
Shoppers can also meet former Red Sox pitcher and member of the 2007 World Champion team Manny Delcarmen between 5 PM and 6 PM and former Red Sox catcher and current WooSox hitting coach Rich Gedman between 6 PM and 7 PM.
L.L. Bean also has outdoor activities scheduled over the weekend on Friday and Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM and Sunday 11 AM until 3 PM. There are various all ages games, local apple cider and DIY s’mores, and the opportunity to enter to win a $500 gift card. Dog owners are encouraged to bring their pup for a special treat.
L.L. Bean store hours are:

- Thursday: 10 AM – 8 PM
- Friday: 10 AM – 8 PM
- Saturday: 10 AM – 8 PM
- Sunday: 11 AM – 6 PM
